Please do not allow the rezoning. I have wintered in Curacao for the passed 3 years. The development I have seen just this year has me very concerned. The increase in traffic is terrible already. The locals are losing their public beaches which is a shame. Like carcassabai this broke my heart. One of the places we loved to watch locals BBQ and enjoy family time in weekends. But this is being taken from them for development. You are allowing so much development that you are losing some of the beauty of the Island of Curacao. We do not like the atmosphere and commercializations of Aruba but loved the quiet tranquil location of Curacao. You are changing this I feel for the locals. Not only that as Canadians we have come to stay from Dec to March. We would have stayed longer if allowed. But now we are having second thoughts. We have met some amazing locals but the island is just becoming way too busy for the infrastructure available. Please don’t lose what Curacao is all about to allowing big developers come in and destroy the beauty. It really saddens me this is happening. At one time we had thought about trying to move to Curacao but that is not a thought now. We will be coming back this winter but it may be our last considering the changes you are allowing and how long it takes us to drive to certain places.
I hope you take this seriously and also rethink the development at Carcassabaai as that is one of the last beaches for the locals. Tourists have enough beaches to go to. Think of your people
